Pre-Flight Checklist
To ensure the highest quality imagery and the safest flight possible, we require our clients to assist in preparing the site prior to our pilot's arrival. Follow this checklist to avoid delays or rescheduling fees.

1. General Site Preparation (All Projects)
Regardless of the project type, these baseline steps ensure a "clean" shot and a safe environment.
-
Notify Stakeholders: Ensure security, staff, and neighbors are aware of the scheduled flight time.
-
Clear Hazards: Identify any temporary hazards such as cranes, scaffolding, or loose debris.
-
Remove Obstructions: For exterior shots, ensure vehicles, trash cans, and construction equipment are moved out of the primary line of sight.
-
Check Local Events: Ensure there are no scheduled "no-fly" events nearby (e.g., a local stadium event) that might trigger temporary FAA flight restrictions.
2. Real Estate & Architecture Specifics
Curb appeal is everything. To make your property stand out, please ensure:
-
Landscaping: Lawns should be mowed, and leaves or debris cleared.
-
Windows & Blinds: For "Window Pull" shots, ensure windows are clean. If we are doing interior drone "fly-throughs," ensure all blinds are set to the same height/angle.
-
Lighting: Turn on all interior and exterior lights, even during the day, to provide a warm, inhabited glow.
-
Pools/Water Features: Ensure pool covers are removed and fountains are turned on.
3. Industrial, Construction & Surveying Specifics
For high-accuracy data and mapping, technical precision is required:
-
Ground Control Points (GCPs): If your project requires sub-centimeter accuracy, please ensure your survey team has laid the GCP markers prior to our arrival.
-
Active Machinery: Coordinate a "stand-down" if necessary. Dust and vibration from heavy machinery can interfere with certain sensors.
-
Site Maps: Provide a digital PDF or KML file of the specific boundaries you need mapped to ensure 100% coverage.
4. Safety & Legal Access
Peak Perspective Drones must operate within FAA regulations and property rights.
-
Authorized Access: Our pilots must have a designated "Launch and Recovery" zone—a flat, 10x10ft area clear of people and overhead wires.
-
Pedestrian Control: For flights over active sites, you may need to provide a "spotter" or "visual observer" to help manage pedestrian traffic during takeoff and landing.
Note on Weather: If weather conditions (wind > 20mph, rain, or visibility < 3 miles) prevent a safe flight, our team will contact you at least 2 hours before the scheduled time to reschedule at no additional cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be on-site? While not required for exterior-only shots, we highly recommend a site representative be present for industrial inspections or interior fly-throughs to provide access and safety oversight.
What if the site isn't ready when the pilot arrives? If a pilot is unable to fly due to site obstructions or lack of access, a $150 Standby Fee may apply for the first hour of delay.
